ARCADΞ (ΞDITION)

ARCADΞ (ΞDITION) consists of twenty unique mini-arcades and serves as a derivative of the installation CTRL ALT DΞLΞTΞ. These works contain no screen and no sound design. What remains is the form: the iconic arcade object, reduced to a transparent sculpture.

By removing all functional elements, the focus shifts entirely to meaning. ARCADΞ (ΞDITION) is not about playing, but about the idea of play. It explores memory as a residue: what remains when interaction, sound, and image disappear? The mini-arcades function as silent vessels of nostalgia, where the absence of the game actually intensifies the sense of alienation.

The series is limited to 20 pieces, thereby undermining the notion of mass production inherently linked to arcade culture and pop icons. The transparency makes the objects feel almost intangible—like frozen memories that are visible but cannot be grasped. As a more affordable and accessible translation of the larger work, ARCADΞ (ΞDITION) positions itself between sculpture and conceptual artifact: an echo of a game that once existed, but now exists only as an idea.
