CTRL ALT DΞLΞTΞ is an installation in which Don Diablo converges nostalgia, technology, and alienation. At its center stands a full-size, transparent arcade cabinet featuring an interpretation of Space Invaders developed by Don, complete with his own original music and sound design. The game is infinite and unplayable by the observer; while its familiar form suggests interaction, it immediately withdraws from it.

The work begins with recognition: a collective memory of arcade culture and youthful wonder. However, this nostalgia is quickly undermined. The game is not the original, but rather Don’s memory of it, distorted, slowed down, and disconnected from control. The title CTRL ALT DΞLΞTΞ refers to the desire to reset systems, but also to the impossibility of doing so: memories cannot be simply erased or restored.

The transparency of the plexiglass renders the installation almost immaterial, as if the object could vanish at any moment. In this way, the arcade transforms from a gaming machine into a monument to play, time, and technological obsession. The work positions itself within the tradition of digital media art and pop art, where icons are not merely glorified but critically reprogrammed.
